Professional Profile: Jürgen U. Pack
He started his business career as export manager for four years in the brand article industry. J. Pack changed to the consulting sector by joining two renowned management and marketing consulting companies in Düsseldorf area specialising in textile and apparel for a total of five years. He continued his career in these German consulting companies as junior consultant and later became a senior consultant, managing clients and projects at an international level. Before joining A+P CONSULTING Associates in 2000 J. Pack worked as an independent management and marketing consultant conducting international textile and clothing projects in the field of trade and investment promotion, export marketing and promotion, commercialisation and privatisation of state-owned enterprises, planning and organisation of seminars/workshops, sector studies and market research in the EU and transformation countries, as well as EU market entry assistance to international private companies. J. Pack is known for his in depth knowledge of the major EU clothing and textile markets at the retail and industrial level. He has designed and implemented various market entry and market penetration projects for international clients to the EU. The tasks undertaken included sector analysis, client/company analysis (audit), market evaluation, development of market entry strategies, designing of business plans, recruitment of the appropriate distribution partner, sales promotion activities, training of the personnel involved as well as controlling and follow-up of the of project steps. Since 1986 to date, J. Pack has conducted or was involved in various projects for international institutions like European Commission in Brussels, International Trade Centre (ITC) in Geneva, The Centre for Promotion of Imports from Developing Countries (CBI) in Rotterdam, Protrade/GTZ Frankfurt etc. He worked with several private textile and apparel clients from Germany, The Netherlands, Sweden, Turkey, Malta, India and the Ivory Coast. J. Pack holds a Masters Degree in General Business Administration (M.B.A.) from the University of Cologne/Germany. During his studies, he was specialising in foreign trade and exports, marketing and market Research and industrial psychology. J. Pack is a member of the Africa Association and the German Asia-Pacific Business Organisation (both in Hamburg, Germany) and the German Marketing Association in Düsseldorf. He is German national living in Cologne/Germany. In addition to German he writes and speaks fluently in English and French. |
